Around 340 students and faculty from the different schools in the province including the BS Pharmacy family of PLTCI and community members lined up at Solano Children’s Park on Sunday morning, 22nd day of September 2013 to participate in the Fun Run to commemorate the 2013 World Pharmacy Day with the theme “Takbo Laban sa Mikrobyo”.

One of the academic associations leading the said race was the Nueva Vizcaya Pharmacy Association (NVPhA). It was also supported by members and officers of Student Organizations in several institutions like SMU and PLTCI and their Army ROTC officers.

An invocation was led by the Dean of PLTCI—College of Pharmacy, Mrs. Aileen P. Buhisan. This was followed by the singing of the Pharmacy Hymn by the SMU Pharmacy chorale. Mrs. Luningning L. Malabanan, President of NVPhA, welcomed all the participants in the activity. She said, “I think the amount of people and the overall morale was a really happy environment this year. The cause was closer to home this year”.

The activity was simultaneously done with other Pharmacy Association chapters throughout the country.

“There’s something special about being so excited to go running that you count the minutes until you can leave work, lace up, and hit the pavement. But no matter how much you’re in love with running, it takes a little effort to keep a relationship fresh”, a PLTC student-participant commented.
