Pharma marks 1st white coat rites

Thirty Four (34) BS Pharmacy students were given salutations during the PLTCI—College of Pharmacy first White Coat Ceremony with the theme, “Pharmacy: Transcending the Challenges of Time”, held at the PLT Resort Function Hall, Bascaran, Nueva Vizcaya last October 14, 2013.


                  The first ritual for the Pharmacy Department, this ceremony is a way of formally installing students toward their professional academic training. It is also a visible expression of the serious endeavor as they work toward becoming members of the health care team.


                  The program formally started with an invocation led by Mrs. Glecy Labador followed by the singing of the National Anthem, PLTC Hymn and Pharmacy Hymn conducted by Ms. Sarah Dela Cruz.


Mr. Raymund Louie Joseph O. Tiam, the future President of PLTC welcomed the candidates in their future journey as professionals followed by the introduction of the guest speaker by Mrs. Aileen P. Buhisan, Dean of the College of Pharmacy.


Focusing on the essence of the theme, Mrs. Luningning L. Malabanan, the guest speaker, inspired the candidates about the Pharmacy profession and its challenges.


The donning of the white coat on the candidates was facilitated by Mrs. Malabanan and the pinning was led by Mrs. Buhisan.


A pledge signifying the Oath of Pharmacists was initiated by Mrs. Malabanan. An encouraging inspirational message of Ms. Jennyvie Berganio, a fourth year Pharmacy student was given as a response to the challenge accompanying new phase of their endeavors. Ms. Joan Asuncion, president of the Hygeian community delivered her closing address . The event’s master of ceremony was Mr.  Roldan R. Subia.
