“A midwife is a person who, having been regularly admitted to a midwifery educational program, and duly recognized in the country in which it is located, has successfully completed the prescribed course of studies in midwifery and has acquired the requisite qualifications to be registered and/or legally licensed to practice midwifery” - International Confederation of Midwives (ICM). Taking it from there, Midwifery itself is a series of various experiences, challenges and learning purposively to bring out the best in every students’ capability of becoming one.

In our pursuit of academic excellence, a five-month refresher course was crafted and implemented prior to a month review in preparation for the Midwifery Licensure Examination. The  refresher course aims to train students to master their board subjects, focus in knowing what to deliver, and how to deliver their competencies by working smart aside from working hands. This has brought PLTCI to the limelight being consistently recognized as one of the top performing schools nationwide every time results of the Midwifery Licensure Exams are posted. It had been an inspiration and at the same time a constant challenge to maintain and uphold its name on top.

These combined efforts of the college will set the students in their full battle gear making sure that they take their Licensure Examination with the confidence and faith that they will make it, and not just make it but top it!

The PLTCI College of Midwifery       believes being a midwife is not just a matter of passing. I believe it does not end there for it is a profession and a vocation as well that requires someone who has the heart to be able to care with a very good foundation of trust. For every waking day of practicing this profession will bring about different encounters that would promote growth both personally and professionally including the families under their care.

Furthermore, the program also ensures that the students will have enough and appropriate skills to be able to competently respond to the needs of their parents so that even if the students are already on their own imbued with them is a culture of how midwifery is practiced with the heart and mind working together making them one of a kind PLTCIan MIDWIVES!
